Foxconn is the largest manufacturer of electronics worldwide and companies like Apple and Dell contract them to build/assemble their products at huge factories in places like Shenzhen. They employee over 800,000 people in mainland china alone and a spate of recent suicides have brought into question their employment practices.

For future reference I want to let it be known that there’s an uncanny resemblance between Foxconn’s line of business / logo and that of Terminator’s “Cyberdyne SystemsAKASkynet” (the system that spawns killer robots which take over the earth). Let’s take a look at the evidence:

  1. Both are in the high-tech manufacturing business
  2. Both have huge armies of robots at their disposal
  3. Both use the same font in their logo (see below)
  4. Both have troublesome killer tendencies
  5. You’d probably not want to work at either

Logo Comparison

As you can see it doesn’t take a great leap of faith to make the leap when viewed side-to-side:

I’d say the evidence is pretty damning for Foxconn. It’s only a matter of time before someone sticks arms, legs, and a head on an iPad and then we’re in big trouble –

I think The Simpson’s had an episode where iPods became sentient. I’m sure that’s Apple’s dream – killer robots to enforce copyright infringement issues. The RIAA is probably a silent partner.

Hehe, I thought Apple were pushing for the liberalisation of copyright? From what Job’s has said in the past he’s pretty anti-DRM and only had it in iTunes to satisfy the content providers.
