Curse of the Golden Flower

Curse of the Golden Flower

Hot on the heels of the wonderful Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), Hero (2002), House of Flying Daggers (2004) and Fearless (2006) comes Curse of the Golden Flower from director Yimou Zhang, which by the looks of things is another sumptuous period epic providing a glimpse into semi-faux Chinese history – currently in post-production.

Curse of the Golden Flower

Staring the stunning Gong Li, tells the story of an imperial family, which is slowly falling apart from the inside. Entailing “betrayal, deceit and passion, pitting King against Queen and father against sons” it looks set to draw both domestic and international appeal.

Curse of the Golden Flower

Drenched in myth and mystery, with cool-looking assassins flying through the air, amazing panoramic shots of sprawling untouched landscapes, rich costumes and a haunting soundtrack what more could you ask for? I love this stuff!
