First Snowfall in Munich

Over the Christmas and New Year holidays, we experienced our first snowfall in Munich. It wasn’t that deep, but it did settle for a few days, transforming the landscape of the fields nearby into something magical.

A factory poking its nose above the snow-covered trees
Hydrant and water pipeline markers in the middle of a field

A frozen pond scored by the blades of ice scates
A glasmalerei (stained glass workshop)
Mistletoe hanging on a tree

Although we’ve not experienced any truly severe weather yet, it definitely feels like the most wintery location I’ve lived in to date. The wonders of central heating in Europe also make it a much more comfortable season compared to our freezing cold house in Japan, where I was sometimes forced to wear a hat in bed to sleep!
